Left ventricular stroke volume calculation based on Reuleaux triangle formula: correct geometric characteristics of aortic root in systemic blood flow assessment

چکیده
The OBJECTIVE was to estimate the left ventricular stroke volume calculated using Reuleaux triangle formula, and compare with parameters obtained from measurements in ventricle outflow tract. METHODS AND MATERIALS. A prospective cross-sectional study of dimensions tract (LVOT), aortic valve, velocity-time integral (VTI) carried out, followed by calculation LVOT valve 36 patients receiving renal replacement therapy. RESULTS. sizes anatomical structures were determined patients. average value area – 3.8 cm2, (AV) opening 2.8 AV according circle formula 3.14 cm2. mean VTI 21 cm; on 26.9 cm. (SV) 70.85 ml, SV 70.9 76.5 for 68.72 ml. In a comparative analysis results mathematical calculations, it revealed that, comparison LVOT, discrepancy between more than 30 % when (χ2=4.1, p=0.04), (13.8 versus 4.1 %, respectively). CONCLUSION. Parameters matches reference values selected study,

quantification of aortic regurgitation severity by left ventricular to right ventricular stroke volume ratio
background: echocardiography is the most common test used for the evaluation of aortic regurgitation (ar). however, the role of echocardiography as an available and inexpensive method in the quantification of ar by the left ventricle to right ventricle stroke volume ratio (lv/rv sv ratio) has not been completely investigated. methods: between june 2005 and december 2007, 132 consecutive patient...
متن کاملWide limits of agreement between left ventricular stroke volume, right ventricular stroke volume and aortic and pulmonary forward flow
Background The quantification of valvular regurgitation by CMR is usually a second-line diagnostic tool that is used when echocardiography has proven inconclusive. According to guidelines are aortic and mitral regurgitations considered severe if the regurgitation volume > 60 ml and regurgitation fraction > 50 %. Regurgitation of a single heart valve may be calculated by comparing LVSV and RVSV ...
متن کاملPressure-flow studies in man: effect of respiration on left ventricular stroke volume.
The pressure gradient technique was used to evaluate effects of respiration on left ventricular stroke volume in 22 patients: 11 normal patients; eight patients with airway obstruction; and three patients with pericardial tamponade. In normals, stroke volume, systolic pressure, and pulse pressure fell an average of 7, 3 and 11% (P < 0.01), respectively, during inspiration. In patients with airw...
متن کاملImmediate effect of expiratory loading on left ventricular stroke volume.
While the steady-state effects of positive pleural pressure on the circulation have been extensively studied, less is known about the immediate effects of positive intrathoracic pressure on cardiac dynamics. Therefore, we performed electrocardiographically gated radionuclide ventriculography with a respiratory gating technique in nine healthy subjects during quiet breathing and during expiratio...
متن کاملTitle : Left ventricular output and aortic blood
Aims: Low systemic blood flow occurs in up to 30% of infants born at less than 30 weeks gestation. It is associated with increased morbidity and mortality and current treatments are ineffective in 40% of cases. The aim of this study was to assess the ability of the preterm heart to respond to the acute shifts in preload and afterload that occur at the time of birth. Methods: Myocardial and coro...
